Rick wants to offer employees at his car dealership a fantastic benefits package to attract the most productive salespeople and reduce turnover. He learns that high deductible medical insurance is a cost-effective option but can leave the insured with expenses such as copays and missed work income. He decides to offer accident insurance as a way to help employees protect their finances.

Employees get benefits to spend on what they need.

George, Rick's top salesman, breaks his foot at home a few weeks after signing up for accident insurance. His insurance pays specific benefits for his ER visit, an orthopedist consult and his cast. The money helps with costs like his deductible, missed work income and driving 50 miles to the orthopedist's office.

Attract and keep employees with great benefits.

The base policy offers employees like George the following included benefits:

  • Accident emergency treatment: X-rays and a doctor's care received in a hospital or doctor's office within 96 hours of an accident
  • Follow-up visits and physical therapy: follow-up treatment visits within 30 days of the original accident (within 120 for physical therapy) if the original treatment was given within 96 hours
  • Initial accident hospitalization: ambulance service, hospital admission and ICU care within 96 hours

Insurance is available to employees and spouses after age 18 and to eligible children through age 25.

Decide which type of accident insurance to offer.

You have the option to provide 24-hour or off-the-job-only insurance. You can also customize the amount of different types of benefits to best work with your major medical plan. For example, you could offer an emergency room benefit equal to your emergency room copay.

Choose an insurance company that wants to help.

Easy enrollment, friendly account executives and payroll deduction options for employee and dependent insurance premiums make integration with the human resources department convenient and hassle-free.

Offer the additional benefits best for your workforce.

You may also choose to offer employees a variety of optional riders (additional policy benefits), including:

  • Accident Hospital and ICU Income Rider (benefits for in-hospital treatment of injuries within 30 days of a covered accident for up to a year and for ICU treatment for up to 15 days)
  • Accidental Death and Dismemberment Rider (additional benefits if the insured dies of an accident within 90 days, 25-100% of the benefit amount payable for specific dismemberments and additional benefits for child education, daycare and spouse career enrichment)
  • Expanded Benefits Rider (expanded benefits for specific injuries and treatments)
  • Wellness Benefit Rider (pays for an annual health screening for employee and insured spouse after 30 days after getting the policy)
  • Disability Income Riders (riders with monthly benefit payments in the event of accident only, sickness only or spouse off-the job accident only)1
